What’s involved?

During your initial appointment, a sleep technician will explain your sleep study results and inform you on how positional therapy works to treat your sleep apnoea. You will then be fitted with a ‘Nightshift’ positional therapy device.

By emitting a vibration on the back of the neck prompting you to roll out of a supine sleep position, the ’Nightshift’ device trains you to stay on your side as you sleep. During the 1 week trial, if you have any issues with the device, please don’t hesitate to contact a CRS technician.

What are the risks?

Risk factors associated with positional therapy are minimal, if any. You may at first find the device mildly uncomfortable and the application of therapy when in a supine sleep position disrupting. If you have any previous shoulder ailments and find sleeping in a lateral position uncomfortable, then investigation into alternative therapy may be necessary.

What happens next?

To ensure the device is an effective method of treatment, a sleep study with the device towards the conclusion of your trial is recommended. If positional therapy is effective in treating your sleep apnoea, you have the option of purchasing the recommended 'Nightshift' device from CRS.
